I pretty much grew up on the back of a horse, my family owned a riding stables, and I competed in all forms, showing, showjumping, hunter trials, gymkhanas, cross country etc.
On top of owning and riding horses, I have always had pets, mainly cats and dogs, but also birds, rabbits, other small animals and a goat! Which makes me completely comfortable around almost all animals. This means I know and understand how most animals think and behave, understanding that to get the best photos I have to have to meet and spend time with the animal.
I have always been a keen photographer, but I fell in love with capturing those special moments of friends and family whilst out with their horses, from there it just kind of took off!
I work these days for The Bit UK and EquiConsulting as a photographer, covering many British Eventing, British Dressage and British Showjumping events. I have also had photographs published in Horse & Hound, EQLife, Absolute Horse and Rider Magazine, plus a few online publications such as Eventing Worldwide, The Gatepost & The Bit UK. Some my work has been used in commercial adverts for equestrian brands such as TopSpec & Childeric for example.
